Backstory:

Amanika, often just Nika, is the sole surviving child of Taman, the village priest. Mutilated in the smilodon attack that killed her mother, Nika grew up surprisingly resilient and quick-witted, if somewhat impulsive and foolish. Likeable and a capable huntress, Nika's fascination with the world around her has led her to become quite the storyteller and collector of knowledge; given both her and her father's rightful distaste for Thum, she was never pressured into being the village priestess, and so chooses to concern herself with more practical matters of life, love, survival and community.
